New release implemented, better user experience for road users

Last weekend, on September 4th, a new software update of the Satellic tolling system has been installed. This update offers you again some new interesting functionalities and improvements. Based upon the request of our business partners, federations and road users, the following functionalities are available as of now:

Extended Journey Visualisation

As you know, Satellic offers you the journey visualisation for free since July 2016. For privacy reasons, you have to manually enable this feature (per vehicle) on the Road User Portal, to be able to use this.
The journey visualisation offers a deeper insight into a truck’s journey. You can see where a specific truck has been driving on any given day. The journey is displayed on an interactive map.
Moreover, the raw position data (KML file) can be viewed, downloaded and deleted. Thanks to the KML file, you can import the data in your own geolocation tool.
When activated, the position of the vehicle in Belgium is registered every 30 seconds and sent in bulk every 5 minutes by the OBU to the system.

NEW: The journey information can now be visualised and the data can now be downloaded for a period of multiple days instead of one day only. This gives you even more flexibility in the follow-up of your fleet’s journeys over a longer period of time.

Deletion of obsolete license plate numbers

From now on, it is possible to easily delete the obsolete or wrong license plate numbers which are still indicated in the vehicle overview on the RUP.
To delete the obsolete vehicle license plate, the only thing you have to do is to access the vehicle detail page and to click the “de-register” button.
Please mind that when you “de-register” a vehicle you will not see the data for that vehicle anymore in the RUP nor will you be able to access it again at a later time.

"Couple OBU" button on the vehicle detail page

You can now couple an OBU to a vehicle directly on the vehicle detail page. It is not necessary anymore to go through the OBU detail page to do so. This will save you some time while coupling OBUs.

Automatic notification in case of missing bank account number

In order to process a refund, for example when an OBU is returned to Satellic, it is mandatory to have provided a valid IBAN bank account number on the RUP or at the Service Point.

NEW: If a valid IBAN bank account number is missing in the RUP, the system will automatically remind you to fill in an IBAN account number in the RUP.

IMPORTANT! Please be aware that both the deposit and the pre-paid balance refund are blocked until valid bank details (IBAN and BIC) are specified either on the RUP or at a Service Point.

Info message on OBU display when a vehicle is registered with an emission class which is too low or a weight class which is too high

When a vehicle is registered with an emission class which is too low and/or a weight class which is too high, the users receive from now on a message directly on the OBU display. This message informs them of this fact. They will also be notified per e-mail. We advise them to adapt their vehicle information as soon as possible in the RUP (provide the real emission class and/or weight class) to avoid paying more toll than they should.

Change your payment mean without having to decouple and couple your OBU

It is now possible to change your payment mean on the RUP without having to decouple and recouple your OBU to that specific vehicle.
