Flemish government changes tariff of part of tolled road network and introduces zero-emission tariff from 1 January 2024

The Flemish government decided to convert 686 km of roads to the Flemish tolled network. It means that the tariff will go from zero to a normal tariff on 1 January 2024 for all the vehicles on which the kilometre charge applies.

Furthermore, a preferential rate of 0 € cents/km will be granted to zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) across the entire Flemish road network. However, the OBU remains mandatory for ZEVs. In Brussels and Wallonia, ZEVs will still be classified in the EURO VI category.

The software of activated OBUs will be automatically updated in order to reflect the new network and tariffs coming into force on 1 January 2024.

The table with the new rates can be found on the Viapass website.
