2nd Level Support Engineer

Description

The department “Electronic Tolling Services” is responsible to operate the fleet of OBUs and ensure the correctness of the toll calculation and reporting. This includes activities such as OBU status monitoring, remote maintenance activities, Map & Tariff quality control, OBU configuration, over-the-air update and Charge Data collection monitoring, using specific tools to enable an accurate and stable Toll Collection.

The candidate will support the department “Electronic Tolling Services” in the following areas:

  • Monitor the toll service layer, including the OBU fleet and the backend infrastructure, to ensure the reliability and the correctness of the toll calculation together with the availability of Charge Data.
  • Perform "hands on" OBU Second Level Support
  • Analyse incidents regarding faulty OBUs and provide solutions for 2nd Level Support (Customer Care)
  • Perform actions remotely on the OBUs for fault clearance
  • Trigger Development teams if necessary and provide information on the technical status of the respective faulty OBUs and backend systems.
  • Provide structured help guides, decision trees and FAQs on OBU behaviour for Customer care.
  • Some limited external interventions are possible in case support to end user is necessary.

The 2nd level Support Engineer reports to the Problem Manager.

  
Your profile

  • Ideally: 5+ years of Technical Support activities, ideally Second Level Support for technical ICT products.
  • Analytical skills and structured approach to tackle technical issues.
  • Endurance to deep-dive into technical issues and find a cause of failure.
  • Very helpful: Experience with mobile components or products.
  • Expected is a certain flexibility regarding job tasks as Satellic NV is a start up company which might still evolve to optimise operational activities.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux/Python is useful but not essential.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ideally fluent in French and/or Dutch
  • You are ready to attend workshops and trainings, can be outside of Belgium.
